I would recommend that you separately prepare the food slurry and inoculum slurry, each of 8% TS (in the way I shown you in your previous question). In the food slurry you will have 8x79 / 100 = 6.32% VS, while in the inoculum slurry you will have 8x67 / 100 = 5.36% VS. Then it is easy to prepare the mixture in any ratio you want, so as have more food waste than inoculum, but keeping the TS of 8%.

if you would like to run an experiment with reference to the VDI 4630 standard, having reactors with an active volume of 1L, you should:

dilute the inoculum that you have from 12% up to 3%,

add 91g of food waste (19, 79) and 909g of inoculum (this 3%) to the reactor.

Then the ratio is 0.75.

To calculate substrate to inokulum ratio use this formula:

=(substrate mass g*TS%*0,01*VS%*0,01)/(inoculum mass g *TS%*0,01*VS%*0,01)

Thanks Dr. Carmen and Dr. Izabela for your valuable suggestion. But still I could not prepare the mixture at different FM ratio. It would be better if you explain it by using example i.e. for FM ratio of 0.5, 0.7 .
