There is a debate among researcher in the applied field that the research findings should carry the message that can be applied and the results should be benefited by the society. Instead few fellow researchers believe and strongly argue that the research findings should only focus to find a space in a reputed or highly impact journal and need not worry about its application. I expect a healthy discussion from the fellow researchers on this very sensible issue.
