I'm looking for survey software that actually allows you to record audio within the survey as opposed to having to go elsewhere to submit the audio file and without having to download an app. It seems like a simple request given that mobile phones can record audio so I assumed it would just be something that could be done with a bit of programming and therefore should be a function of one of the survey software packages? Basically where there is an open-end question, I want people to have the option to speak into their phone instead of typing in free text.

Does anyone know any good survey software that can do that?

I was able to implement the addpipe service into a qualtrics survey. It allows to record audio and video answers while staying in survey and automatically uploads the answers at the web service chosen by you. It also parsers the survey IDs which allows to identify the participants. Alltogether, this is a pretty good and flexible solution.

Hey guys, had some issues with this myself and built a product called Phonic (www.phonic.ai) to make this super easy in the future. The platform is entirely built around the collection and analysis of audio in a survey format.

Gave Nick Byrd a hand with a think-aloud study recently if you'd like a quick reference on how everything works. Would be happy to help anyone else trying to conduct audio related research- just shoot me a message or leave a note with our Intercom on the Phonic website.
