we need to calculate the heat demand of commercial and industrial buildings.
Ideally the paper contains one or several formulas, which can be used to calculate the heat demand. By heat demand I mean the amount of heat, that one needs to maintain a specific, temperature inside the building, like e.g. 20 °C.
Ideally the equation is as simple as possible with as less input values as possible. We are thinking, for example, of inputs such as the area and height of the building, the degree of insulation and the number of people in the building.
I am grateful for any recommendations of publications, that deal with the described issue.

I warmly suggest to use TRNSYS and its module TRNBuild. The input procedure will guide you in the realization of a precise model of the building and will allow you to calculate the thermal loads.

Unfortunately, the proposed solutions are far too complicated for our purposes.
We are rather looking for a kind of 'rule of thumb' or a lookup-table, which can be used to easily estimate (a rough estimate is enough) the heat demand.
For example, it would be nice to have a table, that displays the heat demand per m^2 or the heat demand per person etc., for a building of the category 'commercial' or 'industrial'
