I have a patient (a 7 year old girl) with right hemiplegia and edema in right upper extremity as an acute onset. MRI showed abnormal signal in right hemisphere? and her neurological exam showed normal symmetrical DTR.
All routine lab and evaluation of rheumatologic study and echography were in normal limits.
Could this be Sudeck's atrophy/algodystrophy? Is it cold and blue and hyperalgesic?
involved limb is not cold and blue. Also it is not hyperalgesic. This limb shows flaccid paralysis and EMG-NCV was normal .
Do you think about a systemic vascularitis including a secondary CNS vasculitis?
May it be that the detection of the MRI's lesion nature could help to the diagnosis?please more inform us about the characteristic features of this lesion.is it an active lesion or an old one? do you think that this lesion has any correlation with clinical symptoms of the patient?
