I have searched it in google but it just explains some general information about bioassays for pharrmacological purposes. I didn't get anything about molecular purposes, especially for tracing a gene. Maybe, as an example I got ELISA as one of the bioassay techniques to trace a specific gene, but how about another? Is there any other technique besides ELISA?
You need to know what is the effect of your drug on that specific gene to decide about the level (DNA, or RNA, or protein) of your test. Also decide about the results required (qualitative, semiquantitative, or quantitative).
thank you so much for your answer or suggestion.. but, pardon me.. honestly, I need this information for my assignment from my lecturer.. it's not for a reseach.. so, that's why I think I can't decide or make an assumption about the effect of my drug on that specific gene to decide about the level (DNA, RNA, protein) as you mean.. I just need a global information about bioassay especially for gene identification.
So you need to take in consideration techniques like RT-PCR, real time PCR, Southern blot, Western blot for gene expression analysis

detection methods and technologies may provide useful information far below the sensibility of ELISA. For instance, protein chips decrease the limit of detection up to 1000 times. DNA microarrays (even with only few probes) also are highly informative.
what you need is a specific antibody for the ELISA technique, or a gene-specific sequence to design the oligonucleotide probe. Luminex assay on beads and lfuorescent readers also are useful. You have several options depending on where you need to detect your sample (inside cells without extraction, in sera, etc..) and on the number of isoforms known. In some case, Next-generation Sequencing or exon-based DNA arrays are more informative.

is that really Mam?.. because, after I search some articles, they said that bioassay is a verification transgenic plant by feeding it to some insect and see the effect to them.
