We are running a meta-analysis and need data on the attachment styles of American college students using the RQ. Please send me a note if you are willing to share your data. We cite all data that we use. Thanks!
I do not have data from the RQ. However, I do have data from my own instrument, The Relational Perceptual Actualization Survey (TRPAS). The TRPAS will be published in a few months. I have data on students in all disciplines, with special focus upon social work degree students.
This instrument is designed to assess core relational perceptions of self and other (reality) within the topic areas of Society, Morality, General Intimacy, Economics, and Family. These are divided into a perceptual framework which includes Worldview, Relationship Types, and models of relationship.
Additionally, the instrument includes an actualization scale that is designed to assess Relational Knowing, which includes closed knowing/learning (I Know and I'm Right), apathetic learning (I Don't Know and I Don't Care), confused knowing/learning (Confusion), and uncertain/exploratory knowing/learning (I don't Know, but I am Seeking). These four areas form a construct by which to gain an indication of a person's (or groups) relational knowing and level of balance between rigidity and openness.
The instrument has proven to be highly predictive and especially useful in using a cognitive approach to relational assessment, consultation and change, which is what my new institute is about.
