At our local ITU, we are considering introducing a Transoesophageal echo, together with transthoracic.

We have been discussing a number of options, namely upgrading our portable echo machine (entry level) with a toe probe, or getting a disposable toe system, like the Imacor hTEE.

I would appreciate your comments, namely the hTEE shows a lot of promise for ease of use and training, but is expensive. And we do not have much info on the machine itself, but we were told it is possible to do basic transthoracic echos and has also a linear probe.
