I am considering buying a McRoberts Motion Monitor to assess energy expenditure and types of activity (like lying, sitting standing, walking and stair climbing) for research purposes in an outside the lab environment for periods of time of a week. I've read their validation papers, but I'm not sure if McRoberts Motion Monitor is reliable and affordable in practice due to cloud base analysis services, or perhaps you know a similar system. I'd really appreciate if you could share your experience.
