I have had serious problems to communicate the CG to the PC. I tried with the RS232, software (cerity), etc. But finally I think that the problem is in the firmware. Here we can not find a new chip because the CG is very old and Agilent has no firmwares.

Why You think the firmware broken?
If it is absolute CG , try to find similar device and ask to make a copy of firmware.

First of all, thank you very mucho for your interest. The technician told us that this was the problem. Today we still have the problem to connect the GC with the PC. And no one can find the solution.
