Photographed in stable sands in Donana Biological Reserve, Southern Spain. Similar mounds appeared a couple of days after heavy rains in Oct 2014. The sand was pushed out of the tunnel while wet. When excavating one of the tunnels it descended in a spiral to a depth of 60 cm, just below the wet zone of the sand, but no animal was found at the end. The diameter of the tunnel was about 1-1.5 cm. The height of the mound is about 7 cm.
