A software called Ecotect, do you know? It is nice for analysis, and volumetrics buildings. You can choose geografic position to see the sun, materials of you building, width, and other things..
Thank you Patricia. Yes..for this moment I use Revit and Ecotect to do the first step, I think I need more info for the next step, how to realize it in VR. Thanks for your respond and I look forward to have your next opinion.
Yes Yudi; I can understand ECOTECT has some limitations which I have not explored personally as I have just been introduced to it. However, I think you can make do with another similar software, DESIGNBUILDER. You can get in touch with Dr Haltan of Sheffield University ([email protected]) for proper guidance. Wishing you all the best (Sule)
Yudi, I don't know exactly what you need, but search for CFD software (computer fluid dynamics). Look, also for therrmographic photos. On fluid dynamics, you may also search for Schlieren photographic method.
Thank you Paulo, actually we don`t use thermographic camera due to its result just for 2D images, I wonder if CFD could proceed into VR software which is could visualize its result in 3D volumetric and put some navigation buttons to interact with it.
Yudi, the CFD software I know, works as simulator and you can try diferent solutions changing variables. Interaction and personalization I haven't tryed...
However thermographic cameras are able to register in realtime video.
Paulo, thanks for the info. The problem is how to bring this CFD result into VR to visualize the temperature and interact with it in such different periode of time.
About using a thermal camera, I think it is an interesting idea, although it has different methods with the use of thermal software. Thermal Camera just allows the examiner to visualize and quantify changes in skin surface temperature. Its infrared capturing device is used to convert infrared radiation emitted from the building surface or the facade into electrical impulses that are visualized in color on a display screen and save it into 2D image. It is meant that thermal camera just visualize thermal on surface of a material (e.g. wall, door. window, ceiling, floor) in flat surface but not in volumetric. It can not calculate temperature in space volume (in between of walls ceiling and floor).
Yudi, here you've got some software that are simple to use and I think it fullfils what you need for your research. I hope I've been of some help for you...
