Basically, for my masters project/paper i am conducting an exploratory research into my own personal experience (when listening to the guitar in electronic trance music), along with using musical analysis methods secondary research to then inform a creative output (my own music).

Because i am using my own personal experience to inform this exploratory study/investigation, could this then also be adopting an autoethnological research approach ?

I ask this because i understand autoethnology does indeed use the researcher's own experience to inform a study... but everything else that defines an autoethnological study does not sound like my research (i.e. I am not writing a story).

My university tutor has asked me to look into this research method, but i am confused if this can relate to my study or not?
