Some scholars perceive that AR only offers stand alone object, that developing architectural design proposal using AR may limitation in-term of how ideas flow. Thus far, other disciplines have explored the advantages of using AR, but not in Architecture. Perhaps, anyone here knows the potential of using AR in Architecture, besides merely viewing real and virtual images together.
Christophe, the first paragraph is a bit eerie :). It is a very good paper to understanding AR as concept of learning, but lacking in model of implementation in creative design process. Other disciplines use AR object as completed virtual model to be experienced, but in Architecture, we need to develop the model creatively before having the final completed "architecture." Thus far, the only way to capture the creativity involved is by using captured images....still, there is no completed architectural model produced unless we go back to using computer modeling software.
I wish to let students experience creative architectural design process using AR, but the platform of learning need to be established first. Right now, we are lacking in facilities and expertise.
