I'm not sure I undestand you correctly. It seems to me that even when one is open to the topic in question, one needs to makes tentative assumptions in order to get started and to have a hope of making progress, and such assumptions might be wildly off base even if one sincerely believes in their initial plausibility. Any certainty here cannot be that a mistake is not being made merely because one is open to possibly being mistaken about what one thinks is plausible.

The world view is that the many things are separate and that matter ultimately consists of combinable particles. Such statements manifest themselves in the diversity of views on the same thing – for example, what the essence of materiality is, or of movement. Depending on what is believed and feared in a paradigm, other basic conceptual elements appear as being determinative in a perspective. That is why materiality or movement looks different in Aristotle or Newton or Einstein, while the validity of the theory remains limited by the fundamental assumptions. What is far less trivial is how we approach the question of what intelligence actually is. One can be satisfied with little, following fashionable suggestions, or be critical and want oneself to think the matter through comprehensively. It suddenly becomes important whether we are fully honest with ourselves or allow ourselves to be self-deceptive to some degree. The hope that one's own need for intelligence can be provided and delivered by an apparatus corresponds to a desire to delegate one's own need to think. Then one will devise numerous gadgets. This may work well in limited fields, but it will not end well in the fabric of real life. Ultimately, the decisive point is always the totality of interconnections. In one’s own personality the decisive point is the core of self-identity, the human ‚I’ as such – which cannot be gained by any description, it can only be experienced by the adequate type of attentiveness, because its nature is pure activity in a self-reflective mode. It is of spiritual nature, displaying the characteristics of a law (specific type of logic) and force (associated will power). Please note that you always have some mental content (philosophers call this fact ‚intentionality’) and you cannot stop your mental life, you can only shape its guidance in terms of allowing or forbidding content. This could be, for example, wanting only to ‚listen’ and not to chatter at all. The effect is extremely revealing (but with some people, a lot of patience is needed before real listening sets in). This is the ultimate real "Ockhams Razor"! The AI machines can never reach any true awareness of their intentions, as these are defined by the program.

Humanity has always produced some forms of understanding, with incompletenesses incurring corresponding drawbacks, and unfortunataly some people believe we can never get beyond, while others are very clever at exploiting the loopholes. The humanities and linguistic studies should offer useful instruments for tackling precisely this point. Therefore here the conceptual and more precisely categorial problems are absolutely at the core, while at the same time extremely thorny. There is a basic difference – somewhat being considered the continental realm, and rather neglected in the American way of addressing issues – between *culture* (allowing the Absolute to be addressed, fostering perennity) and *civilization* (proud of its little successes, but always remaining ephemereal).
