oh, there are so many of them indeed. concerning movies try to have a look at: the host, Rec, Children of men, and, above all, Contagion. in terms of pandemic books, find time to read these ones: Zone One by Colson Whitehead, The Plague by Albert Camus, Blindness bu Jose Saramago, The Stand by Stephen King, and Station Eleven by Emily Mandel. All in all, most of the apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic literature is of interest here.

Zombie-movies immediately spurs into my mind. Especially the Resident Evil film series reminds me about the worst possible scenario. In my view it is always appropriate to take into consideration an extreme - case, so that science-fiction setting would stimulate the most amount of benefit for practical research for defending people in the real world:

epidemics and plagues have stalked humanity for centuries, inspiring literature and other forms of art stretching back to before we even had the germ theory of disease. In books like Daniel Defoe's A Journal of the Plague Year (1722), Richard Preston's The Hot Zone (1994) and Albert Camus' The Plague (1947) the human toll of epidemics are explored. Viruses and other diseases have also become a popular topic for movies and television, kicking off zombie pandemics in The Omega Man (1971) or falling from space in The Andromeda Strain (1971, based on the first novel Michael Crichton wrote under his own name). Some artists find meaning in plague and its rippling effects through society, others see only useless death.

I immediately thought of Robin Cook's book " Outbreak" which was made into the film Virus.

A few days ago, I watched the film Contagion C(2011), directed by Steven Soderbergh. The similarities with the current Covid-19 pandemic are extremely worrying: contagion spread, mortality rate, actions taken to combat it (confinement, etc.,),etc. Sometimes it seems reality imitates fiction. How begins (in the film) the pandemic?: with a bat, in Macao (China). Scary!
