I would like to indications of books and texts that talk about the A-bomb. Can be empirical or theoretical texts, any help will be welcome. I am concerned to understand the different ways to talk about it, both by historiography and by the official history and the memory of the people involved (especially in the United States of America and Japan).

The best narrative account of the context to the decision is probably Richard Frank, 'Downfall' which pays attention to the internal dynamics of both sides in the final year of the war. A more international perspective on the development of atomic weapons is Rotter's 'The World's Bomb'. There has been an extensive debate about the true motivations of the Truman administration, the chief protagonists being Barton J. Bernstein and Gar Alperovitz.
Like previously mentioned Barton J Bernstein has written a few articles concerning the subject, try: Truman and the A-Bomb Targeting Noncombatants,Using the Bomb, and his Defending the "Decision". Or Compelling Japan's Surrender without the Atomic Bomb, Soviet Entry, or Invasion: Reconsidering the US Bombing Survey's Early Surrender Conclusions. These two may be of some help.
