Actual books or articles don't spring to mind: but a historical instance you might like to check out is Mahatma Ghandi's such fast in 1932 in the cause of Indian independence; also India, but more presently (2011) is the social activist Anna Hazare's such fast against corruption.
Or from Britain (1981) there is the case of the Provisional IRA member Bobby Sand's such fast in protest against his prison conditions.
I am aware about the historical instance and Mahatma Gandhi's fast and non-violence movement, and Anna Hazare's fast against corruption. I also need some specific documented cases for referencing. Thank you very much.
Dear Pratik Khanal,
Actually, we have been writing a long article about Dr Govinda KC's hunger strike for the betterment of medical education and health governance in Nepal. I am searching other similar examples/cases in other countries. Thank you very much.
