You can take a snap from your cell phone, it will identify about captured plant, also provides basic details like botanical name, family, cultivation and uses. You can easily identify plant through modern electrics. You can download app from play-store named snapplant, pictureThis etc.

No, I don't have any idea about plant identification apps. As a botanist, I use to identify plants on the basis of their characters. In last four years, I have identified several hundred plants posted on ResearchGate. If such apps are there, then I seriously doubt on their creditibility.

There are a number of app which could be useful in identifying plants although comes with some limitations.
The most effective features of it is the identification by the research community.
The app can be useful also when you know the name of the plant. A search will display the photo of the plant among other details.
Any such app is likely to identify plants of a specific area only.
These apps can only identify some common plants only. And if you ask to identify the plants seriously then they will ask for payments also. I don't know about all apps, but some of the apps I tried was free at the beginning but will ask to buy the paid ones if I want to know more in details.
if any apps is available i am sure that is work properly and if it is available then it can identifies few some common plant species because many of plant have morphological variation in leaf and so on.
