I am experimenting with slag. Slag is an alkaline mineral. I have some problems with the experiment as I have to repetatively conduct the coating experiment. If you have any idea or recommendations about this scenario about acid minerals, it would be of great help in my research. Thank you.

Firstly, slag is not a mineral if you consider the formal definition of the term "mineral". It is not a naturally occurring substance.
Secondly, slag is not necessary alkaline. This depends on its composition.

Pyrite.
I think pyrite does not form iron sulfides in acidic mineral condition.
Pyrite is composed of iron and sulfur; however, the mineral does not serve as an important source of either of these elements.
