The primary purpose of architecture is to provide for the basic need for human shelter. But, besides providing shelter, architecture does seem to also provide information.

On the base visual perception we can determine the buildings as a church, airport, commercial and residential buildings etc. Their different forms and structures give us an information about their building's function.

Architectural elements can also convey different connotations or emotional feelings
