Do any of you know literature/ evidence for this? In a small scale test with camera traps on carcasses, those of predatory birds were untouched. This is only an anecdotical observation, but I was wondering if there is something more to it, and I couldn't find any studies.

I think not so. Because, I have seen to consume Dog (predator)
carcasses by vulture.

I would like to share a few observations of mine (mammalian systems) which might shed some light on the current discussion. On one occasion, I saw two golden jackals (a known scavenger) near a striped hyena carcass. Although the jackals did not consume anything during the observation period, but they were sniffing the corpse on and off.
On a different occasion, I have found feral dogs were feasting on golden jackal carcass (the jackal was died due to a road accident).
Besides these I have observed a few active predation by tigers (both from camera traps and direct observation) on beta predators.
