Although globalized English is a recognized phenomenon in the researchers' circle, it is yet to make its vivid presence in the language classroom neither in the outer or expanding circles. Perhaps you may wish to address the research debate among researchers concerning the role of English as an international lingua franca in international universities. I highly recommend Jenkin's outstanding contributions (2002,2005,2006,2014) in the field as well as the work of Canagarajah; Kachru; Graddol; and Seidlhofer; among others.
Very interesting! English as a Medium of Instruction is a globally growing phenomenon which is sweeping academic institutions everywhere. EMI is under the inevitable influence of English as a lingua franca because the two parties involved in the educational process, i.e., the instructors and the learners, are, by and large, non-native speakers of English. Many arguments and questions emerge if we try to make the connection between the two, taking into consideration that today's learners will become tomorrow's researchers who are supposed to publish in English and write academic English to achieve academic recognition.

EMI has dominated the HE landscape everywhere , and it will continue to grow further. Global Englishes and EMI are considered to be as inseparable twins these days. Given the drastic influx of Global Englishes, EMI classes will be more oriented towards Global Englishes rather than the main stream English.
