1) as a non-presenting participant, do you care about the poster presentations, or rather focus on oral ones? What are our motivations to see the posters?
2) as a presenter, what is your goal when presenting your poster? Do you feel it is useful/satisfying to present a poster?

Yes surely they matter. Many times very good papers and research ideas are in the former of poster presentation. They are really value able.
