We have observed these two compounds after depolymerization of alkaline lignin. literature says that " dehydroabietic acid, along with abietic acid, are resin acids used in the production of wood pulp and common in paper mill effluents ", so that means these are impurities in the commercial supply?

These are resin compounds. Likely they were co-precipitated during lignin isolation at the manufacturers side.You could consider them, of course, as impurities due to they are not lignin. You could try to acidify lignin to somewhat neutral pH (if it is a salt) and then extract them with acetone or ether. Probably if you will prewashed lignin with acetone it will be enough as well (i doubt they are covalently bonded to the lignin).
