It is interesting to compare methodological approaches to conducting research in different countries. In a recent review of Learning Management System (LMS) research in China and Australia, significant differences were discovered in the way that empirical studies were designed and executed (Turnbull, Chugh, & Luck, 2020). For example, we found that Chinese studies employed quantitative approaches more than Australian studies, and that interviews were more prevalent as a data gathering technique in Australia.

It would be interesting to discover if national differences in research methodology are discipline specific or have a broader applicability. What are your experiences?
