Did you find any theoretical and also mechanical reason that the electron should be afloat from the proton without being collapsed into the proton?

Dear Tony Fleming,

Did you find the reason why electrons do not and can not collapse into the proton due to the Coulomb force? Other than the quantum mechanical explanation saying that they just don't because math says so.
