I think that one cannot speak of a homogeneous development on the subject. While there are countries like Portugal where political parties have worked together and therefore society has not polarized as a consequence of Covid-19, there are others like Spain in which the opposite has occurred where the response of the population to the internal conflict is not even homogeneous. In Spain, for example, opposition parties have slightly improved their expectations of voting, however in Italy, where this conflict has also occurred, the Lega of Salvini has fallen spectacularly in votes, although in this case there is another alternative to vote far-right may have influenced. In summary, I think this is an analysis that should be done by countries, not universally.
Generally I think covid 19 has engendered cohesion and integration of families. The lockdown is the cause. Family members are more together than before.
I would like to think that way. It seems like that, but it is not. Everyone ask for solidarity and cohesion, even Empathy. However, one only can see sympathy even in aid from foreign countries. Some governments, at national arena, use that as an opportunity to do business. Press and Civil Society Organizations around the world are asking for transparency and the need to enhance civic space,
Creo que la respuesta estaría si se puede establecer el grado de cohesión social de la población, de sus patrones culturales, estilos de vida y de su situación económica. Por ejemplo, México no sería un buen ejemplo para afirmar esto.
First of all, thank you for your answers and contributions.
So, we cannot make a generalization that the outbreak will result in harmonization and cohesion. Providing attention to other parameters, we can say that the political and social polarization within the country affects people's attitudes towards epidemic and pandemic process management.
