I am investigating the impact of Metacognitive Interventions on Metacognitive awareness, self efficacy and academic achievement of higher secondary school students
For this purpose, I need to develop Lesson Plans based on Metacognitive Interventions for 'Education' subject at Intermediate level.
So how can I develop the lesson plan..
Can I compile different Metacognitive Interventions viz. (Self assessment, wrappers, brainstorming and concept mapping as Metacognitive Interventions) with Herbartian Approach of lesson plan or 5E model etc
Or
I have to develop separate lesson plan by taking Metacognitive Interventions ?
How can I develop Lesson plans to be taught to the experimental groups for Experimentation?

Dear Venkateswar Meher, thank you for your question. I think you need to outline the rationale for this study, what triggered the investigation? Why is this study needed? Then clearly state your research questions. Read the literature about this area to see what was written and investigated on this topic. I think you need to limits the metacognitive elements you are going to research. I mean you cannot study 5 or 6 factors related to metacognition. Maybe one or two are enough. If you are aiming to see the impact of introducing the metacognition together with a subject you are teaching, you will need a control group (without the metacognition component) but share other characteristics with the group that have the intervention. As my research is experimental in nature, so I have planned for one Experimental group and control group.
The Experimental group will receive the treatment (Metacognitive Interventions)
And the control group will be taught in traditional approach.
I did not find any related study for "Education" subject, and I am doing PhD in Education, so I decided to develop Lesson plan for Education subject at Intermediate level.
The maximum available literatures as based on Mathematics and language subjects, where Metacognitive Interventions are applied in the form of lesson plan.
But I have to do it in Education subject (I think it will be the first time, as not a single literature was found on this)
But

For a PhD, you must spend three-four months searching the literature. I doubt that there are no studies in this area, as you stated — search databases including- Web of Science, Scopus, and Google Scholar. Also, ERIC, EBSCO, ProQuest, APA Database, OECD Database. Also, search the medical education literature and engineering education literature — search Journals such as Academic Medicine, Medical Teacher, and Medical Education. Also, Teaching and Learning in Medicine, Advances in Health Science Education, Medical Education Online, Also, journals in Dental Education (Journal of Dental Education, European Journal of Dental Education), Nursing Education, and Pharmacy Education. There are as you know hundreds of journals in Education and Psychology and Business Education. These also must be searched. You should learn methods to maximise your online search. Moreover, searching the websites of journals and manual search. This needs a lot of skills to learn, and you need to seek training workshops on searching the literature and use of search words.
