I came across already to few articles that describe new species of plants for Peru. It is well-known that several authors can be included in the main article but not in the description of the new taxa. For example Xenophyllum oscartovarii with 5 authors! Eventhought that the species is invalid. It seems impossible that the 5 authors described the same species when it is well-known that usually 1-3 authors work on the description of the taxon. It seems to be that the main author lacks knowledge of how taxonomy works or either the person wants to please the other authors with authorship but then it should be placed in the main article and not in the description of the species. I made some research towards this and a third party confirmed that he did not work on the description of the species, therefore why is his name there? I consider this to be absolutely unethical.
