DES (diethylstilbestrol) is a man-made (synthetic) form of estrogen, a female hormone.
Does anyone have any historical data or any physican who may have insight on DES.
Hi, DES was prescribed as a treatment for threatened abortion in the 1940s/50s by a US physician, despite the fact it was a highly effective abortifascient in lab animals. Unfortunately if was carcinogenic and induced reproductive tract carcinomas in the female off-spring of the women given it for threatened abortion.
