Dear all, after working for 16 years as a teacher I have come to believe that two of the most difficult aspects of education are 1) to find the write criteria for teacher recruitment and 2) to find a proper way for teacher assessment.

In my opinion it might be impossible to know if a person will be a good teacher without letting them work for 1-2 years. Therefore, I am thinking that with a good assessment method a school manager/a ministry of education etc will know who is a good teacher, who is not, who needs to improve towards which way etc.

In other words my question is this: Is anyone interested in working together and creating a '360 degree assessment tool' for all levels of education? This tool will include feedback from students, peers (colleagues), and supervisor(s), as well as a self-evaluation by the teacher him or herself. With this tool everyone will assess everyone.

I am looking forward in hearing your responses.
