I have 30-min rainfall records from 2014 to 2018. There are lots of missing records in 2014 and 2015. I have removed 2014 and 2015 from the dataset. I now have 2016-2918 remaining. Firstly, I want to derive an equation for estimating erosivity from daily rainfall from the 30-min rainfall records. Secondly, I want to use the derived equation to estimate R from 22-year readily available daily rainfall data for my area. My concern is the appropriateness of using three years of pluviographic records to derive an equation. I attempted to derive the equation and used the 2014 and 2015 records to test the prediction (r2=0.84). What do you think?
