Current trends in biochemical process modelling

Does anybody in the field havesome insights into the current trends of modelling biochemical processes? For example, cybernetic approach, boolean approach etc. What are the directions forward in the years to come for the modelling of complex biochemical processes other than the traditional chemical kinetic modelling approach (which may seem very tedious for complex biopolymerization processs)?
