Dear colleagues,
Together with my colleagues at the Medical University of Warsaw we are developing a short course on cultural awareness and multiculturalism in medicine. The course is primarily addressed to future nurses, doctors and midwives.
We received a small grant for a member of the faculty for a short study visit in the UK in an institution that runs a similar course for students studying medicine or nursing. The aim of the visit is to find out more about the rationale of the given curriculum, see how the course is run, learn more about materials and teaching techniques used.
Could you please advise me who in the UK could be a potential host for such a visit?

Contact the principal of the institution in UK that runs the programme. It's a great course. As a culturist, I think that it is relevant in many respects to teach cultural dynamism and how culture affects medical care to equip nurses and other health professionals on best ways to treat patients while containing their cultural preferences in healthcare. Congratulations.
These are essential although such awareness groups do exist in the UK except in one area-mental health. This remains an area largely under physician control, and where such instruction is deeply required.
