We are doing some histology-oriented research into amyloidosis at my academic institution in Russia. Our project hasn't sufficient funding to afford multiple antibodies from the get-go, so we're looking into companies that provide free samples, if anybody knows any?

There are several antibody suppliers that offer relatively cheap trial sizes for some of their antibodies, including Biorbyt, Invitrogen (ThermoFisher), and Rockland Immunochemicals. Also, antibodies-online has a special program where they will refund the cost of the antibody if you submit validation data to them.
