Please suggest the use of renewable energy systems such as solar thermal or photovoltaics in Disaster Management. Please also suggest whether that system or technology can be used for the pre-disaster, in between the disaster or post-disaster management.
Based on my experiences and existing applications, PV would be the best suited because typically you'll find favorable PV conditions in the outdoor environments that suit disaster management equipment. For 24/7 operation, it can also be easily combined with a lead gel or lithium ion battery. Since the maximum power point of these PV cells in outdoor environments won't change that much with light intensity, the power path can be kept simple and easy to implement.

According to me, PV panels can be used extensively and are best suited during and post -disaster because they can produce electricity from diffused sun radiations also. For e.g. earthquake or flooding has occurred which has damage the electricity cable lines, then we can use PV panel for charging mobile phones, use solar lanterns (during disaster), etc.
