You need to create an account here first:

Go to "Advanced Search" and define a rectangle in your area of interest (check 'draw bbox'). Define a acquisition date (optionally) and hit 'Search'. You can then download the scenes you needusing the 'download' link as shown in the screenshot.

Important: You need to wait a few moments and leave the page open until the download is started.

As an alternative, you can check if the files are available in the ASF Vertex portal:

https://vertex.daac.asf.alaska.edu

How do you make sure it is not working - do you receive any error message?

Providing the data could surely take several minutes until the download is starting. As shown in the screenshot: "Do not close this window until the time indicated in this page passed."
