Hello.

I have been recently supervising an MSC project student in Wrist Biomechanics project "Design an optimal scapholunate ligament scaffold for a permanent restoration of wrist stability in scapholunate ligament reconstruction".

How often do wrist surgeons use (i.e. titanium) scapholunate ligament scaffold instead of tendon graft for scapholunate ligament reconstruction?

Which type of biocompatible materials are usually used for these wrist prostheses apart from custom biocompatible materials (i.e. titanium, stainless steel)?

How often do wrist surgeons consider additively manufactured scaffolds for scapholunate ligament reconstruction?

Any suggestions would be very welcome.

Many thanks,

Kind Regards,

Katerina
