Technology can only enhance, but not completely take over the roles of the ophthalmologist. There are many aspects of clinical evaluation, treatment, monitoring, etc that can not be done by the technology without the ophthalmologist. However technology in the hands of the ophthalmologist will continue to yield multiple benefits.
