Published in Moscow, "Norma", 2012.  Also I know, that a German professor Alexander Blankenagel studied the Russian Constitutional Court from the 1990th. I would recommend "Appointing Judges in an Age of Judicial Power: Critical Perspectives from Around the World" (University of Toronto Press, 2006). This book contains a lot of valuable information about your topic. As for my country of citizenship, The Netherlands, the following may be helpful. The Netherlands does not have a constitutional court; in fact the Dutch Constitution prohibits courts - all courts, including our Supreme Court - from reviewing the constitutionality of Acts of Parliament (article 120 of the Constitution). For an article explaining the process of appointing Dutch Supreme Court justices, please see the attachment (see especially p. 762-768) (please note that parts of this article are outdated). Together with chapter 7 of the aforementioned book, it provides a good overview of the Dutch situation.

for Italy you can refer to art. 135 of the Italian Constitution and / or every text of constitutional law (as Mortati, Martines, Crisafulli, Barile and so on).

This draws to mind where I intend to glean from: Yale University 7 modules of inclusion criteria.  For example module number 5 states:  Investigators must include in their protocols a thorough description of the study population. Are you looking for protocols?  Module 1 leans to justice (http://learn.yale.edu/hsp/module_5/3a_guidance.asp).  I have not had the opportunity to avail of these modules (for I am still in the history phase of my first thesis), but I think in your case it points to the religious books and adages of your targeted area.  Please let me know if any module inspires you, for we all are working on the same platform: TRUTH

Composition and organisation

The Spanish Constitutional Court is made up of twelve members appointed by H.M the King of Spain; of these, four are proposed by the Congress on the basis of a qualified majority of three fifths of its members; four are put forward by the Senate, with the same majority; two by the Government; and two by the General Council of the Judiciary (Art. 159.1 of the Spanish Constitution (CE)).

Judges of the Constitutional Court are chosen by constitutional mandate amongst renowned legal experts, performing their duties with independence. They may not be removed from office. Their appointment is for a period of nine years and once such term elapses they may not be re-elected for a subsequent term- without the possibility of immediate re-election, unless they have held office for less than three years-, without the law having established any age limit. In order to ensure continuity of the Court’s operations, it is renewed by thirds every three years (Art. 159.3 CE).

The Plenary Meeting of the Court elects a President from amongst its members by ballot; he is appointed by the King for a three-year term, and may be re-elected just once (Art. 160 CE and Art. 9 of the Public General Act of the Constitutional Court (LOTC)). This same procedure is also used to elect the Vice-President of the Court, likewise for a three-year term (Art. 9.4 LOTC).

The Plenary Meeting of the Constitutional Court comprises twelve senior judges and is chaired by the Court President. He is in charge of all proceedings within the Constitutional Court’s jurisdiction, although appeals for the protection of constitutional rights (“recursos de amparo”) are only examined under reach-down jurisdiction, given that these remedies are in principle entrusted to the Divisions

There are two chambers in the Constitutional Court, the First Chamber is chaired by the Court President, whereas the Vice-President presides over the Second Chamber. Each Chamber, in turn, is broken down into two Sections, with three Judges in each of them. These Sections basically operate at the initial stages of any proceedings examined by the Court, deciding on the admissibility of appeals. All resolutions adopted by the Plenary Meeting, Chambers and Sections require the attendance of two thirds of their incumbent judges.

The Court has a General Secretariat, under the supervision of a Senior Legal Counsel, who is the head of all the constitutional legal counsellors employed by the Constitutional Court. "

CONDITIONS FOR THE ELECTION OF JUDGES OF THE CONSTITUTIONAL COURT, ELECTION OF JUDGES OF THE CONSTITUTIONAL COURT AND TERMINATION OF THEIR OFFICE

Judges of the Constitutional Court shall be elected from among Croatian citizens, jurists with at least 15 years of experience in the legal profession, who have been distinguished by their scientific or professional work or public activity.

A person who has obtained a doctoral degree in legal science and fulfils all the conditions stated in the paragraph 1 of this Article may be elected as a judge of the -Constitutional Court if he/she has at least 12 years of experience in the legal profession (article 5).

THE PROCEDURE FOR ELECTING A JUDGE OF THE CONSTITUTIONAL COURT

The procedure for electing a judge of the Constitutional Court shall be instituted by the Committee of the Croatian Parliament competent for the Constitution, which shall publish an invitation in the Official Gazette Narodne novine to judicial institutions, law faculties, the chamber of attorneys, legal associations, political parties, and other legal persons and individuals to propose candidates for the election of one or more judges of the Constitutional Court.  An individual may propose himself as candidate.

The invitation shall set down the conditions for electing a judge of the Constitutional Court determined by the Constitution and this Constitutional Act, the deadline for proposing a candidate to the competent committee, and the enclosures that shall be delivered with the proposal.

After the deadline for proposing a candidate to the competent committee expires, the competent committee shall investigate whether the candidates comply with the conditions for being elected judge of the Constitutional Court as determined by the Constitution and this Constitutional Act, and shall reject invalid candidacies.

The competent committee shall perform a public interview with each of the candidates who comply with the conditions for being elected judge of the Constitutional Court and on the basis of presented data and interview results shall compose a short list of candidates for judges of the Constitutional Court. As a rule the short list shall include more candidates than the number of judges of the Constitutional Court who will be elected.

The competent committee shall submit to the Croatian Parliament, together with its proposal, the list of all the candidates who comply with conditions for being elected judge of the Constitutional Court. The proposal of the competent committee shall include the reasons showing why the committee gave a particular candidate priority over the other candidates.

Representatives in the Croatian Parliament shall vote for each proposed candidate individually.

A candidate proposed for judge of the Constitutional Court shall be considered to have been elected judge of the Constitutional Court if a majority of the total number of representatives in the Croatian Parliament vote for him (article 6).

I would like to add some valuable sources regarding current modalities of Constitutional Court compositions. I think that these fruitful materials additionally give you more information and spirit for the future research.

The first publication published by the Venice Commission and to my knowledge is one of the best accumulation of information about composition, appointment and selection procedures of the Constitutional review implemented institutions worldwide.

As regarding second publication, it published by the Center for Constitutional Transition at New York University School of Law and definitely is one of the last contribution in this insight. It covers the very recent developments and options thus is very relevant resource for perception.
