The Chaos is everywhere, even at our mind , so there are many new physics theories which explaining many ideas in nature depending on chaos concepts like Scale relativity theory , Cantorian fractal space-time ,,...ect.  regards 

I'm not a specialist in the field of neuroscience and have heard about the relationship between consciousness and chaos for the first time in this question. Searching the Internet, I have found the link below, which might be relevant to the question.

I think that the brain is just a simple box , my consciousness fill with pattern according to what it want. When you se chaos in the brain ,the conschousness  has it's focus elswhere. There exist no chaos if you see it from a higher level. 

The duality Conciousness and Chaos is a source of evolution, and all type of human creation. It remember me, the dialectic process of thesis, antithesis and synthesis, as well as the vigotsky's idea of assimilation and accomodation.

The question is of philosofical nature, but we can give the answer on physical level at the present time.  Conciousness is a product of evolution of dozy chaos in molecular matter as well as our brain with which conciousness is associated. Details please see in the following references:

I would have only a side remark on the very nature of consciousness from the point of you of a theoretical biologist.

Well, cosciousness seems to be but an end product of the evolution of the subjective side of living matter, and is based on the same principles as subject in general, namely, perception (self perception of matter.). Its function, as perception is but take care of an entirely new way of carrying out a certain QM symmery restoration, t.e., that it should be done safely. That is, it is based on the senses, from the most primitive living forms upward. But human consciousness is peculiar in being based on the possession of language, as  the "secondary sign system". Its most developed form is "internal speech". As its symbols, expressed by words, detached from their object, they are freely combinable, being the basis of thinking. The Ego, whose function it is, thus is in closest relation of the senses with hearing. As I showed, the origin of consciousness, as the Mind/Matter problem, can be considered together with the origin of life and origin of the QM Measurement Problem as a possible primordeal molecular (Pattee iype nonclassical) QM self measurement of matter.

I agree with András Balázs in the synthetic and multidimensional form as he conceives of Consciousness and Chaos. Also as they have rightly expressed before, those who initiated this discussion with their answers and arguments from various perspectives, philosophical, physical, biological, phenomenological, metaphorical, even literary.

The root question is complex and has many aspects, it is very ambitious because it tries to embrace "The whole" of the Universe and the Human Being " in the little time and space that has our life in general, and this particular forum.

It seems to me that in principle we should speak of Chaos and later of Consciousness and its relation to Chaos and Order:

• I begin with the "Singularity and Big Bang" that, as far as we can know, physicists, mathematicians, biologists, humanists, philosophers and scientists from different disciplines and professions have accepted as a truth not fully tested but understandable (to be able to explain with some Evidences (scientific and philosophical conceptual argumentatives), that is how the Universe and the Space-Time 4D were apparently created out of nothing, and that at the passage of the "Eons" all the matter and energy that we know and conform the Universe, including our Galaxy, Solar System and Planet Earth.
• It is speculated and various theories have been elaborated with some facts of observation and experimentation as: Universal Gravitation Theory, Relativity Theory, Quantum Mechanics Theory, String Theory, Multiverse Theory and others, with Different degree of acceptance and scientific basis, with respect to matter and anti matter, elementary particles, and dark energy and matter apparently covering 60% of the space of the universe.
• In all of this, matter and energy exist in a "Universe in Expansion". Most of this matter and energy is in disorder and according to Thermodynamics in "Dispersion" (Entropy, Chaos), with few exceptions that have taken the passage of thousands and millions of years to the formation of "Organized Systems" (Cosmos ) Like stars and planets.
• In this entire Universe with predominantly dispersive energy (Chaos), there are islands of order (Cosmos), such as the stars and planets already mentioned. In the same sense and on a large scale, it is considered that the set of stars and planets are organized in Solar Systems and these in Galaxies. Also, the Galaxies in Cumulus and finally all this, in the known Universe.

As for the relationship between Consciousness and Chaos, some considerations have to be made:

• In the Universe already described, in the 4D Space-Time, and within the Cosmos, something "untoid" was verified, so to speak, by not finding for the moment the closest words for its description and explanation. The "untoid" , as if it were something not written or edited by nature, was the appearance of self-organized islands of energy and matter that went against Entropy, that is Neguentropia.
• In these islands self-organized by Neguentropía, the Miracle of Life was given, and apparently by evolution, the Conscious Life.
• Following this line of thought, when life emerged in an open but selective biological system (cells with cell membrane) with respect to the incorporation of energy and matter into the interior (facilitated by osmotic diffusion or countercurrent action) and elimination of waste or material not required by said biological system.
• As far as we know and according to Charles Darwin's "Theory of Evolution of the Species" (seemingly continuous evolution with lapses of little change) and Stephen Jay Gould's "Theory of Evolution" (discontinuous and jumps), and by "Thesis and Antithesis and Dialectical Synthesis of Nature" is how Homo sapiens emerged.
• Recapitulating from the moment in which the single-celled microscopic life, from the multicellular to the human, arose, we are already facing special events of the evolution of the Universe, Cosmos and Islands of matter and energy, the so-called Negative Entropy (Neguentropía); That is, a Maximum Order (Life), within the Chaos of the Context (Environment and Universe).
• Likewise, and apparently by complex evolution, another more complex quality of energy and self-organized living matter arose in these semipermeable biological systems called the Consciousness.
• Matter is perceived as matter and is aware that it is Conscious; That is, the ontological matter-energy symbiosis reflects with energy in its materiality and reflects on its reflections about its life, its being, its material and energy constitution in constant change and in relation to its environment. In this instance we are already before an Order Superior to the Maximum of Life, and that is Consciousness.

Concluding for the moment, we are faced with a situation in which, starting from the Origin of the Universe, and from the Order-Disorder, Cosmos-Chaos, Entropy-Neguentropy Equilibrium, "Galaxies Clusters, Galaxies, Stellar or Solar Systems and Planetary Systems" . On a large scale and within this macro, is the evolution of our planet Earth.

On Earth then, conditions were given for that of inorganic matter and then organic matter; and of inorganic organic and inorganic matter, the primordium of life that evolved into living beings is microscopic scales and macros, flora and fauna, nonhuman living beings with seemingly incipient or rudimentary consciousness, and human beings with higher consciousness .

From here to the future, with a well-organized mind, with education, learning and training, we will make better use of our Consciousness, not only as the maximum quality that allows us to think and realize what we think, but also the quantity and Quality of our thoughts. And not only this, but also we will know and we will have to know more to our fellow men by means of our intelligence, Conscience and capacity of communication, regulating our social coexistence by means of rules and social norms integrated by universal values and virtues as with the rights Human and ethical and moral values.

Also towards the future we see a greater progress and achievements of our Consciousness making use of telecommunications, computer science, mass media and Artificial Intelligence, conceptualized and defined as "Prosthetics of the Brain and Consciousness", "Exocerebro" According to the theoretical proposals of the Mexican anthropologist, philosopher and humanist Roger Bartra.

Concuerdo con András Balázs en la forma sintética y multidimensional como concibe a la Consciencia y el Caos. También como lo han expresado antes en forma acertada quienes iniciaron esta discusión con sus respuestas y argumentos desde varias perspectivas, filosófica, física, biológica, fenomenológica, metafórica, e incluso literaria. 

La pregunta de raíz es compleja y tiene muchas vertientes, es muy ambiciosa pues trata de abarcar "El todo" del Universo y del Ser Humano" en el tan poco tiempo y poco espacio que tiene nuestra vida en general, y este foro en particular.

Me parece que en principio habría que hablar del Caos y posteriormente de la Consciencia y su relación con el Caos y el Orden:

• Empiezo con la "Singularidad y el Big Bang" que hasta donde podemos saber, físicos, matemáticos, biólogos, humanistas, filósofos y científicos de diferentes disciplinas y profesiones, han aceptado como una verdad no totalmente comprobada pero si comprensible (para poder explicar con algunas evidencias(científicas y filosóficas conceptuales argumentativas), que así es como se creó aparentemente de la nada el Universo y el Espacio-Tiempo 4D, y que al paso de los "Eónes" se ha formado toda la materia y energía que conocemos y que conforma el Universo, incluyendo nuestra Galaxia, Sistema Solar y el Planeta Tierra.
• Se especula y se han elaborado varias teorías con algunos hechos de observación y experimentación como: la Teoría de la Gravitación Universal, la Teoría de la Relatividad, la Teoría de la Mecánica Cuántica, la Teoría de Cuerdas, la Teoría del Multiverso y otras, con diferente grado de aceptación y fundamento científico, respecto de la materia y la anti-materia, las partículas elementales, y la energía y materia oscuras que abarcan aparentemente el 60% del espacio del universo.
• En todo ello, existe en un "Universo en Expansión" materia y energía. La mayor parte de dicha materia y energía se encuentra en desorden y de acuerdo a la Termodinámica en "Dispersión" (Entropía, Caos), con contadas excepciones que han llevado al paso de miles y millones de años a la conformación de sistemas organizados (Cosmos) como las estrellas y los planetas.
•  En todo este Universo con energía predominantemente en dispersión (Caos), se encuentran islas de orden (Cosmos), como las estrellas y los planetas ya mencionados. En el mismo sentido y a gran escala, se considera que el conjunto de estrellas y planetas están organizados en Sistemas Solares y éstos en Galaxias. Asimismo, las Galaxias en Cúmulos y finalmente todo ello, en el Universo conocido.

En cuanto a la relación Consciencia y Caos, hay que hacer algunas consideraciones:

• En el Universo ya descrito, en el Espacio-Tiempo 4D, y dentro del Cosmos, se verificó algo "inédito" por así decirlo por no encontrar de momento las palabras más cercanas para su descripción y explicación. Lo "inédito" , como si fuera algo no escrito ni editado por la naturaleza, fue la aparición de islas auto-organizadas de energía y materia que iban en contra de la Entropía, esto es Neguentropía.
• En estas islas auto-organizadas por Neguentropía, se dio el Milagro de la Vida, y aparentemente por evolución, la Vida Consciente.
• Siguiendo con esta línea de pensamiento, cuando surgió la Vida en un sistema biológico abierto pero selectivo (células con membrana celular) con respecto a la incorporación de energía y materia a su interior (facilitada por difusión osmótica o por acción a contracorriente) y eliminación de los desechos o materia no requerida por dicho sistema biológico. 
• Hasta donde sabemos y de acuerdo a la "Teoría de la Evolución de las Especies de Charles Darwin" (evolución aparentemente continua con lapsos de poco cambio) y la "Teoría de la Evolución de Stephen Jay Gould" (discontinua y a saltos), y por "Tesis y Antitesis y Síntesis Dialéctica de la Naturaleza" es como emergió el Homo sapiens.
• Recapitulando desde el momento en que surgió la vida simple microscópica unicelular, pasando por la pluricelular hasta el ser humano, estamos ya frente a hechos especiales de la evolución del Universo, del Cosmos y de las Islas de materia y energía, la denominada Entropía Negativa (Neguentropía); esto es, un Orden Máximo (Vida), dentro del Caos del Contexto (Medio Ambiente y Universo).
• Asimismo y aparentemente por evolución compleja, surgió otra cualidad más compleja de la energía y de la materia viva auto-organizada en estos sistemas biológicos semipermeables al ambiente, llamada Consciencia.
• La materia se percibe como materia y se percata que es Consciente; esto es, la simbiosis ontológica materia-energía reflexiona con energía en su materialidad y reflexiona respecto de sus reflexiones acerca de su vida, de su ser, de su constitución material y energética en constante cambio y en relación con su medio ambiente. En esta instancia ya estamos ante un Orden Superior al Máximo de la Vida, y que es la Consciencia.

Concluyendo por el momento, estamos ante una situación en la cual partiendo del Origen del Universo, y del Equilibrio Orden-Desorden, Cosmos-Caos, Entropía-Neguentropía, surgen los "Cúmulos de Galaxias, Galaxias, Sistemas Estelares o Solares y Sistemas Planetarios". A gran escala y dentro de este macro, se encuentra la evolución de nuestro planeta Tierra.

En la tierra entonces, se dieron los condiciones para que de la materia inorgánica y luego la materia orgánica; y de la materia orgánica e inorgánica in-animada, surgiera el primordio de vida que evolucionó hasta los seres vivos es escalas microscópicas y macros, flora y fauna, seres vivos no humanos con consciencia aparentemente incipiente o rudimentaria, y seres vivos humanos con consciencia superior.

De aquí hacia el futuro, con una mente bien organizada, con educación, aprendizaje y capacitación, lograremos hacer mejor uso de nuestra Consciencia, no solo como la cualidad máxima que nos permite pensar y darnos cuenta de que pensamos, sino también de la cantidad y calidad de nuestros pensamientos. Y no solo ello, sino que también conoceremos y tendremos que conocer más a nuestros semejantes por medio de nuestra inteligencia, consciencia y capacidad de comunicación, regulando nuestra convivencia social por medio de reglas y normas sociales integradas por valores y virtudes universales como con los derechos humanos y y los valores éticos y morales.

También hacia el futuro se vislumbra un mayor avance y logros de nuestra Consciencia haciendo uso de las las telecomunicaciones, la informática, los mass-media y la Inteligencia Artificial, conceptuadas y definidas como "Prótesis del Cerebro y la Consciencia", el "Exocerebro" de acuerdo a las propuestas teóricas del antropólogo, filósofo y humanista mexicano Roger Bartra.

I am grateful for the attention given to my response related to Consciousness and Chaos, part of an essay I am making about the birth and evolution of Human Consciousness from the creation of the Universe to the present time.

Regarding the reasonable doubts regarding the origin of life in general and of the human being in particular. All the conjectures speak of the origin of the life outside the earth but in the form of microorganisms like archaebacteria, and primitive algae.

English a great English scientist, Francis Crick, coauthor of "Double Helix DNA" together with American scientist James D. Watson, Nobel Prize in medicine in 1962; Was intrigued by later discoveries, such as the identification of abiotic synthesis of proteins without DNA involvement, and the discovery of amino acids in meteorites.

This led Francis Crick to pose the "Theory of Panspermia"; That is to say, the origin of microscopic life in space, in some planet or meteorite that, when falling to the earth, "sowed life" in those conditions of the primitive Earth, and fed by "primordial broth" full of organic and inorganic substances Of the ocean of billions of years ago. All this is described in a work titled "Life itself".

As for the information contained in the link suggested by Raja Khan NA, some of it is very interesting, as referred to the 223 extra genes recently identified with the study of the human genome, if this is scientific evidence but at the moment, can have several explanations, among them, something very similar to the one postulated by Francis Crick and other serious scientific evolutionists, like the Mexican Antonio Lazcano.

The other alleged evidence mentioned in the document suggested, have no scientific basis, but if "pseudo-scientific", as aliens or extraterrestrial beings with large heads that prevent the normal birth of the product of conception at the end of pregnancy and that is why women Have painful births. The viable explanation in this respect has to do more with the evolution of the human being and the "bipedestación", that modifies the structure and dimensions of the feminine pelvis

The most viable explanation is that some of these genes have been found in current bacteria, and that at the moment it is not known whether bacteria coughs transmitted to the human upon infecting it, or that in the bacterial-human symbiosis, man transmitted these genes to bacteria.

Also, some of the 223 extra genes have been found in DNA outside the nucleus of the cell, that is, in the only site where there is DNA outside the nucleus, mitochondria, DNA that is not transmitted by the "inheritance of nuclear DNA" but by mitochondrial DNA in a horizontal form, almost unchanged for thousands of years (including primitive EVA, not ADAN), since the mitochondria of the maternal ovum do not participate in the traditional inheritance. Agradezco la atención prestada a mi respuesta relacionada con la Consciencia y el Caos, parte de un ensayo que estoy realizando sobre el nacimiento y la evolución de la Consciencia Humana desde la creación del Universo hasta la época actual.

Respecto las dudas razonables respecto del origen de la vida en general y del ser humano en particular. Todas las conjeturas hablan del orígen de la vida fuera de la tierra pero en forma de microorganismos como arqueobacterias, y algas primigenias.

Ingluso un gran científico inglés, Francis Crick, coautor de la obra "La Doble Hélicie. ADN" junto con el científico estadounidense James D. Watson, premios nobel de medicina en 1962; quedó intrigado por descubrimientos posteriores, como la identificación de síntesis abiótica de Proteínas sin la participación del ADN, y el descubrimiento de aminoácidos en meteoritos.

Esto llevó a Francis Crick a plantear la "Teoría de la Panspermia"; es decir, el orígen de vida microscópica en el espacio, en algún planeta o meteorito que al caer a la tierra "sembrara la vida" en aquellas condiciones de la Tierra primitiva, y alimentada por "el caldo primigenio" lleno de sustancias orgánicas e inorgánicas del oceano de hace miles de millones de años. Todo esto está descrito en una obra titulada "La vida misma".

En cuanto a la información contenida en el vínculo sugerido por Raja Khan NA, alguna de ella es muy interesante, como la referida a los 223 genes extras identificados recientemente con el estudio del genoma humano, ésta si es una evidencia científica pero que de momento, puede tener varias explicaciones, entre ellas, algo muy parecido a lo postulado por Francis Crick y otros evolucionistas científicos serios, como el mexicano Antonio Lazcano.

Las otras supuestas evidencias mencionadas el el documento sugerido, no tienen sustento científico, pero si "pseudocientífico", como de alienígenas o seres extraterrestres con gran cabeza que impiden el nacimiento normal del producto de la concepción al término del embarazo y que por eso las mujeres tienen partos dolorosos. La explicación viable al respecto, tiene que ver más con la evolución del ser humano y la "bipedestación", que modifica la estructura y dimensiones de la pelvis femenina.

La explicación más viable es la que refiere que algunos de estos genes se han encontrado en bacterias actuales, y que por el momento no se sabe si las bacterias las tos transmitieron al humano al infectarlo, o que en la simbiosis bacteria-humano, el hombre transmitiera estos genes a las bacterias.

También que algunos de los 223 genes extras se han encontrado en el ADN externo al núcleo de la célula, esto es, en el único sitio donde existe ADN fuera del núcleo, las mitocondrias, ADN que no se transmite por la "herencia del DNA nuclear", sino por el ADN mitocondrial en forma horizontal, casi sin modificación desde hace miles de años (incluso de la EVA primigenia, y no de ADAN), pues las mitocondrias del ovulo materno no participan en la herencia tradicional.
