Interesting question (for me) and interesting angle. On the one hand, I would also say that there's sufficient traditional knowledge that is reified in what you term nature-based adaptations, and which could even come cheaper. However, it's also possible at the same time that a) the problems may never have been so serious as now or at such a grand scale (traditional solutions are often local), and b) so many well-intentioned, well-meaning and clever climate and other scientists may support the tech solutions. So what can we do?
