I ask as the user manual for SpadeR, under the heading "Theory of Similarity Measures" states: "The two classes of measures range in the interval [0,1] and thus can be compared across multiple sets of communities. All measures attain the minimum value of 0 when communities are identical, whereas all measures attain the maximum value of 1 when communities are completely distinct (no shared species)." This seems to be a definition of dissimilarity, so i wanted to know if the 0.3610 default value for the Sorensen index I get using SpadeR is similarity (as it implies), or actually dissimilarity as the guide seems to suggest. Apologies if i have completely the wrong end of the stick here!
