Cassia tora a wild weed plants but have medicinal value has black leaf problem in some area. What will be the reason for black leaves?
Many areas in MP of India tribals complaining the black leaves of Cassia tora. There is problem as tribals use the plant for different purposes from food to medicine. What may the reason as plant is having black leaves and possible ways to keep it away.
Could you please share some good quality photographs of the affected leaves of Senna tora (= Cassia tora)?
Dear Manmohan, many thanks for asking this very interesting technical question. Unfortunately there is little information about this issue to be found on the internet. The only hint I found is that certain other Senna plants can exhibit a leaf-spot disease. According to the potentially useful article cited below "The leaf-spot disease initially appears as small, brown, irregularly scattered lesions on leaves which grow bigger in size and turn black in colour at a later stage." Thus it remains to be seen if in your case the entire leaves are black or if there are black spots. As mentioned by Arvind Singh a picture would be helpful.
