What free, easy-to-use software can you recommend to collect self-report data for a three-burst ecological momentary assessment study? Each burst lasts 25 days, in which time, we will be collecting self-report data (mostly Likert-style responses) twice a day, morning and evening. The study is currently designed in Qualtrics, but we are looking for something a little smoother, better-looking, and where it is easy to use for both researchers and participants.

You could integrate Qualtrics with Survey Signal ($0.10 per prompt) which sends a text message to participants (rather than email). We've used Expiwell in our lab and I think it is a solid option both in terms of the features and price ($1295/year), and it can be used on as many studies as you want with unlimited number of bursts/prompts.
