No, it is not possible. Microphone array can be used to do some localization or echo canceling things in a building.

It all depends on the frequency content of the signal produce during crack generation. In this case we are talking about MHz and acoustic microphones only reach about 50 kHz. Thus acoustic microphones will not detect the craking phenomena properly.

It depends on the scale of the structure. If you are examining coupon size composites then the microphone will not be able to record any event. However, if you are monitoring a full scale structure, i.e. a wind turbine blade, microphones may record damages cause large scale damages emit audible signals as well. However, these audible signals are emitted when the damage is already critical and in case you want to monitor and ensure the structural integrity, it may be late.
