can we use cathode material of known properties such as lithium iron phosphate, lithium cobalt oxide as a counter and a reference electrode for CV and GCD studies of anode materials
Yes you can, but complication will come when you need to know standard potential applied to the working electrode (anode) using these materials. That can be obtained by doing some background experiments with standard electrodes and the difference your electrode would make. I am not sure about these procedure, may be some literature survey or electrochemical experts should help you.
