A patient treated by a doctor may have gained a few days of an active life or a few years after correcting disability. But he is paid for the so-called small effort during treatment. Generally no importance is given to the doctor after the patient return back to normal life. But there is need to put an economic or financial value to the efforts of the doctor. Suppose we clean the environment, what are the gains to society or the people living in that environment? Similarly, the removal of one signal may reduce pollution, save time and frustration. We can calculate the amount of petrol saved. But same information is not available for the work performed by all doctors collectively.
