Dear experts in Standard Model,
I am currently modeling free neutrons as a compound particle consisted of a proton and an electron. One of the first theoretical predictions is the free neutron decay energy of 0.78 MeV.
I do not know the details of Standard Model, can experts in this field please help me find the papers that handles the decay energy using the Standard Model? It will be even better if the binding energy of deuterium is also calculated.

A neutron isn’t a bound state of a proton and an electron and that has been understood since Heisenberg and the experiments of the Joliot-Curies.
The beta-decay of the neutron can be calculated in the Standard Model, it’s a weak interaction process, d->u+e+ν_e, mediated by the exchange of a W boson to lowest order. This is now in any textbook on particle physics.
The calculation of the binding energy of deuterium is significantly harder, because it involves the strong interaction. Larttice QCD is just starting to get to grips with it.

Thank you for your answer and the link you provided.
I don't find the decay energy calculation in any textbook, that is why I asked. I also found Dr. Dubber's paper at Preprint Precise Measurements of the Decay of Free Neutrons
and that paper mentions that Standard Model has many combinations, and for no known reason why only one of them seems to work. Standard Model is full of tens of parameters that I don't know where they come from.You can find my easy solutions using proton and electron calculating both free neutron decay energy and deuterium binding energy. No extra parameters are needed, only the radius of neutron.
